What are the application scenarios of fiber optic repeaters?

Fiber optic repeaters are essential components in long-distance fiber optic communication systems. They are used to amplify or transmit optical signals that have weakened or become distorted due to propagation losses or dispersion. Here are some common application scenarios:


Long-Distance Transmission

Digital optical repeater is a new and intelligent solution for signal coverage enhancement. The system is consisted of Main Unit (MU)and Remote Unit (RU). The MU is designed to couple with BTS directly and support up to 4 units of RUs. The MU converts the RF signal from BTS to digital light signal and transfer the light signal to RUs. The RU then converts the light signal to RF signal and enhance it for signal coverage. The RU is equipped with omni sealed, IP65, waterproof and dampproof case and suitable for installations in all environments.The system uses fiber optical cable for connections between MU & RU.

Rural Area

The system is consisted of Main Unit (MU) and Remote Unit(RU).The main unit performs frequency conversion processing after receiving downlink signal from the donor antenna, and converts it into an I/Q signal, which is converted into a digital signal by ADC and then sent to the remote unit through optical fiber. the remote unit recovers the received digital signal and converts it into an analog signal through the DAC, then converts the frequency to the radio frequency, and transmits it through the service antenna; the remote unit sends the received uplink signal of the mobile phone to the base station through the above reverse process. the maximum distance from the MU to RU up to 15Km. so that the main unit could be installed in a good signal area to pick the signal source from the tower, and transmit it to the remote unit where has the weak signal or dead signal.  to solve the mobile signal problems. 

High Rise Building or Large Area

The system is consisted of Main Unit (MU) and Remote Unit(RU), and one MU could link four RUs, and maximum could link sixteen RUs,  in this case,  the system is also suitable to use for high rise building or large area indoor signal coverage. Between the MU and RU, it's fiber optical connection,  and the RU will converts the signal to RF signal, thus between the service antenna and RU, the connect cable is the RF cable.
