The demand for communication or internet access on remote or rural roads is not high, and operators do not consider building base stations because of their high cost; The installation of fiber optic repeater is convenient and cost-effective.
In general, highways can be covered by extending outdoor macro station signals through fiber optic repeater stations. Taking a 10 kilometer long straight road as an example, a set of 1-to-5 10W air coupled fiber optic repeater is used to cover it. Install a high gain outdoor panel mounted antenna at the tunnel entrance to receive base station signals, and connect it to the fiber optic repeater near end unit through a 1/2 "feeder line. The near end unit is installed as close as possible to the outdoor receiving antenna inside the tunnel, and 5 remote units are installed at 1km, 3km, 5km, 7km, and 9km positions inside the tunnel. The near end units are connected in series with 5 remote units through optical cables. The RF output port of each remote unit is connected to a two-way power divider and then connected to 2 directional antennas, which are installed in reverse. Each antenna covers a distance of 1000 meters.
