Mobile signal coverage project case for boat

Summary

When a ship is sailing at sea far away from land, it generally uses satellite communication because it cannot receive signals from land base stations. When the ship enters the near sea or docks, the crew can use the land operator network for mobile phone communication.

However, most ships are metal structures, with multiple decks above and below. There are many cabins in each deck, the structure is complex, and the signal attenuation is serious. External signals cannot penetrate the hull and enter the interior, resulting in the crew being unable to use their mobile phones normally after the ship docks.

Our company has rich experience in the construction of ship mobile phone communication systems.

By building a private network system, the operator's 4G/5G public network signal is introduced into the cabin, so that the crew can also use mobile phones for public network voice and data communication in the cabin. Our company has built mobile phone communication systems for many ships, which have been well received by customers.

Solution design

This ship is 195 meters long and 46 meters high, with 8 deck cabins that need to cover three networks 4G/5G signals. Taking into account the internal structure of the cabin, our company designed the B3/N41+N78 repeater combination to support three networks 4G+5G frequency bands. 61 indoor omnidirectional ceiling antennas are distributed in the cabin for coverage, and each device is connected through a 1/2 feeder. Project scene

1.Uses a marine high-gain omnidirectional fiberglass antenna as the receiving antenna, which can receive the signal of the nearshore base station at 360 degrees.

2.Uses a 5G omnidirectional ceiling antenna as the service antenna, which is placed on the ceiling of the cabin corridor.

3.The host is placed in the equipment room with ventilation holes to facilitate heat dissipation.
